Composition

Tilmicosin 100 mg

Description

Tilmicosin is a semi-synthesized macrolide antibiotic used for livestock and poultry. It has an in vitro antibacterial spectrum that is predominately Gram-positive with activity against certain Gram-negative micro-organisms. Activity against several mycoplasma species has also been seen.

Indications

It is indicated for treatment of mycoplasmosis in livestock and poultry as well as pneumonia in cattle, goat and swine caused by actinomycosis, hemophilus paraphrophilus, pasteurellosis, streptococcus and staphylococcus etc.

Contra-indications

Hypersensitivity to macrolides.

Side-effects

Possible cardiac toxicity (tachycardia and decreased contractility).

Precaution

Overdose may cause heart and kidney toxicity.
Do not administer to laying-hens.

Dosage and administration

For oral administration via drinking water.
Broilers : 75 ml. per 100 litres of drinking water for 3 days.
Livestock : 1ml/kg bodyweight per day.
Medicated drinking water should be used within 24 hours.

Withdrawal period

Meat : 28 days

Storage

Store in a dry, dark place between 15°C and 25°C.
